How much prior notice does Truck and i need to schedule a move?

During less busy times, we may be able to schedule your move with only 1 or 2 days advance notice.

Yes. Because we are not a van line, we are able to give a higher level of exclusive service on interstate and long-distance moves. The same crew member who loads your belongings at pick up will also deliver at the destination. We are also able to give a guaranteed time frame unlike larger companies who will often sub-contract moves to a third party.

How does Truck and i charge for services?

On local moves, we generally charge on an hourly basis. Our pricing conforms with the rates mandated by the Georgia Public Service Commission. Pricing for out-of-state moves is based on weight and distance.

Is the cost of my move more if elevators and stairs must be used?

The size, speed and proximity of the elevator can have major impact on move time. One of the most important time-saving measures a customer can take is to reserve their elevator for exclusive use. It can be very frustrating and time consuming when our movers have to compete with other movers for elevator use. Reservations allow one person to occupy the elevator full-time to assist with loading. A significant number of stairs and/or a long carrying distance will definitely add time to the move.
We typically add an extra mover for help when stairs or elevators are involved, resulting in a slight price increase.

Do I tip my movers?

It’s entirely up to you. Movers do not expect to be tipped. It is not required, but if you feel as if your crew does a great job, a tip of 2-5 percent for the entire crew is appropriate.

Are there minimum hours charged?

Yes, we charge 2 hours minimum.

Can you pack the same day of the move?

Only if it is a small packing job of up to 3 hours.

Can you leave clothes in the dresser?

You can leave clothes in the drawers, but we most likely will have to remove some dresser drawers in order to make them lighter to move.

Can you service my appliances?

We can only unhook washing machines, dryers, refrigerators and electric stoves. We cannot reconnect them. Also, we are not responsible for any water connections or removing anything with a gas line attachment.

Does Truck and i offer recyclable boxes?

We do, however, they go quickly. Please call to check our supply.

Can you move me in a day?

We can do most moves under 16,000 pounds in a day, given that all items and accessories are packed and ready to move.

What happens if it is raining?

We use floor runners to protect the floors along with blankets and stretch wrap for all home furnishings. We work in the rain as long as it is not pouring rain; if that is the case, we will break until rain lets up.

Why do I need so many crew members for my move?

Some moving companies assign less workers than are optimal on a move because it is easier to sell a lower hourly rate. We recommend adding one or two men to the crew, resulting in a discount on the hourly rate of each mover. It allows the move to go quicker and efficient.

What happens if I need to postpone my move?

Please call at least 3 days in advance and we will work to accommodate your schedule with ours. Same-day cancellations will incur a 1 hour charge.

How does Truck and i handle pianos, pool tables and weight machines?

We move upright, spinet and baby grand pianos. For full grand pianos, we recommend the use of a third-party. This third-party would also need to break down pool tables and all weight machines.
